Net Zero Journey: Understanding & Implementing Carbon Reduction Planning with Science-Based Targets

Venue: Online

Wed 23rd October, 2024, 10am to 11am

Description

In this webinar, we will explain what science-based targets are, how to build a science-based reduction plan for your business, and how to determine if you are on track.

Beyond the initial steps of carbon inventory, we will delve into the practical implementation and tracking of a credible science-based reduction plan that will distinguish your business in the market.

This webinar is delivered by Julie Adams a Carbon, Cost and Procurement Consultant with Auditel, a leading Cost, Procurement and Carbon specialist organisation.

Overview

We will explore the definition and functioning of science-based targets, along with the short- and long-term goals necessary to make a valid pledge to net zero. By examining the process and the figures, we aim to demystify the next steps on the Net Zero journey.

Companies need to focus not only on establishing their carbon footprints but also on taking meaningful actions towards Net Zero. As the requirement to report to standards before making pledges and commitments gains momentum, it is no longer sufficient to simply state a company’s intent to be Net Zero by a certain date; such claims need to be substantiated.
