On Thursday 8th November 2018 , Rawlins Academy will be hosting its 2nd Careers Fair, and is looking for exhibitors to take part.
The event held last March was a very successful event. There were over 700 students attend, including 80 students from 4 other local secondary schools, 34 employers were present covering a vast range of employment from NHS, Aggregate Industries, East Midland Airport, Leicestershire Council, Armed Forces, Software IT, Solicitors and many others, talking to students about different careers and job roles. Some were also promoting current apprenticeships. Local FE and HE providers were in attendance, giving students information about post-16 options. The event has been brought forward to help the Year 11’s and Post 16’s review options. Feedback from everyone was really positive – students felt better informed and employers liked the opportunity to talk to employees of the future.
Also during w/c 5th November the Academy is holding a Careers week. There are guest speakers throughout the week to engage with students about different roles and careers, so it is an ideal time to host the fair, with the students and school focused on future career roles.
It is never too early to start to get young people to think about their future and giving them information on the different options available, which will allow them to make balanced and considered decisions.
The event will be held in the large Sports Hall, where there is plenty of space for separate display stands and businesses are offered stand space free of charge.
