Business leaders required for new Business Board

Purpose of Business and Skills Partnership

Leicester and Leicestershire Business and Skills Partnership will help forge an economy which is productive, innovative, sustainable, and inclusive. Led by Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council, it will bring together local authorities, business, education, and the third sector, working together to advise and support senior political leaders as they shape decision-making underpinning growth.

What is the purpose of Leicester and Leicestershire Business Board

The creation of the Business Board demonstrates local commitment to maintaining a strong, independent, and diverse local business voice within our local democratic institutions. As such, we are seeking 8 individuals who are successful business leaders, as well as being visionary leaders who are passionate about making a real difference in our area. These 8 leaders (including one Chair) will join our board of leaders and senior members or representatives from local District Councils, Higher and Further Education Institutions, Business Representative Organisations (BROs) and the VCS sector.

What will my role be?

Joining the Business Board offers the chance to help shape major local economic strategies, influence policy, and contribute significantly to our area's development. While this position is not remunerated, it represents a unique platform for personal and professional growth, as well as for contributing to the driving prosperity in Leicester and Leicestershire.

Recruitment Timeline

Interviewing at City Hall 1st August 2024

Business Board Meeting 16th September 2024

How often will the board meet?

Bi- Monthly, 6 times per year.
