Meet the Team

Liz McCusker - Economic Development and Regeneration Manager 

Liz McCusker has over 10 years of experience in this field, working in the Midlands and Devon, for County, Unitary, Town and Borough Councils.

Having a degree in Education, Liz specialised in health and drug education working in Birmingham for ten years, then relocated to Devon and worked as a consultant delivering parenting standards across England from the Midlands to the Isle of Wight. Liz has also been a business advisor working for the private and public sector. After a break to set up a gin distillery, Liz returned to the public sector delivering broadband connectivity to rural areas of Devon and Somerset with BDUK. In recent years she returned to the Midlands working on regeneration projects.

Liz is passionate about seeing Charnwood prosper and would welcome working in partnership with organisations looking to do the same.

Lorraine Farley - Business Relations and Economic Growth Officer 

Lorraine Farley has worked in Local Government for 19 years where she has spent the last 7 years working in Economic Development and Regeneration.

Lorraine has a wealth of experience creating and delivering several grant schemes aimed at start-up and growing businesses, as well as managing the delivery of various business support initiatives, and has formed strong working relationships with a wide range of partners which are essential for supporting the local economy.

The role of Business Relations and Economic Growth Officer will give Lorraine a focus on working with and supporting businesses to access support to start up and grow, as well as attracting inward investment into the area.

Charnwood is a great location for businesses and Lorraine is keen to open discussions with local businesses to understand their goals and aspirations, as well as looking to build on relationships with partners who have an impact on Economic Development and are looking to work in collaboration.

Daniel Moore - Regeneration Officer

Daniel Moore has 20 years of experience working in local government and consultancy in the field of economic development and urban regeneration.

Initially working in telecoms and the pharmaceutical industry, Daniel studied for a master’s degree in urban regeneration and worked as a consultant delivering regeneration and employment programmes. Daniel has mainly worked in London for different local authorities delivering initiatives incorporating inward investment, economic development, employment programmes, project management and public realm improvements.

Daniel is looking forward to assisting in the development of the town centres throughout Charnwood and making them an even better place to live, work and set up a business.

Steve Dibnah – Regeneration and Economic Development Officer

Steve Dibnah is an economic development and regeneration professional with over 30 years’ experience in local government and private sector consultancy in the UK and overseas. This includes over 10 years working at director and chief officer level within UK local government. He is experienced in leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams as well as managing and delivering complex regeneration and economic development projects and programmes.

Since 2019, he has been working with Charnwood Borough Council delivering the £4.5m Bedford Square Gateway public realm improvement project in Loughborough in 2022 and is currently delivering the £3m Shepshed Public Realm Project, taking both projects through from concept design to construction. He is also Programme Manager of the £3m Living Loughborough Project and the £1m Lanes & Links Project, both part of the Loughborough Town Deal Programme.

Businesses in Charnwood urged to sign up for free event

The free event will offer top tips, keynote speakers and networking opportunities to help businesses to develop. Going for Growth will be held on Friday, 8 November 2024 as part of the Leicester Business Festival and will be held at Loughborough’s prestigious Charnwood Campus, a science, innovation and technology park which is home to a number of successful businesses.
